Evil Twin Share Stunning Video for New Single

Back in 2015, XLR8R released a track by Italian duo Evil Twin, pulled from AYIN, an album released on Italian/Portuguese label Shit Music For Shit People. The track presented a bass-heavy style full of ethnic rhythms, bass-heavy grooves, and rippling textures.

Now, the Berlin-based duo return to XLR8R‘s pages with their latest single, “Heaven,” a poignant track that is the bittersweet result of their need to find a bridge between “the rituals of the inner self and the cynical beats of the contemporary techno environment that surrounds them in the German capital.”

“Heaven” will be available on Spotify and iTunes from tomorrow, January 16, with the video for the single streaming in full via the player above.

We’re told to not expect “dancefloor burners” here; “this time the techno artist goes deep and low, exploring sonic textures, low BPM grooves, and the intelligent side of electronic music,” the label explains.

The album follows the Spanish producer’s Acceptance EP, which lands this week and will be available on vinyl 2×12”, CD, and digital formats. The CD tracklist will also include most of the tracks from Mulero’s previous EP.

Nightmares on Wax Shares New Video

Celebrating the highly anticipated release of his new LP Shape The Future, his first studio album in half a decade, Warp mainstay Nightmares on Wax has shared a video for the album’s title track.

The visual cut is directed by RUFFMERCY, who has previously worked on visuals for Run The Jewels plus label mates Flying Lotus and Danny Brown. The stylized video features the director’s signature animated sketches, following the protagonist as he attempts to escape a recurring cycle.

“An artist like George has managed to stay relevant throughout his career making uplifting music with positive vibes and I think that’s key to his longevity. He’s sincere and passionate about his music and that shines through and definitely an overriding reason why I chose to take on the project. The highlight of which has been working on the video for “Shape the future.” It’s a killer track with a positive message running through it.

“The track is an ode to humankind and the power of positive thought in shaping your destiny. The song is especially poignant as it features Nightmares main-man George Evelyn on vocals, something of a rarity from throughout his 25-year career.”
