Pierre Codarin launched his self-titled imprint in January this year with 001, a three-track 12″ that sold out in two months and picked up support from the likes of Mr. G, Radio Slave, Raresh, Laurent Garnier, Jackmaster, ItaloJohnson, and Apollonia. 002 followed close by in June and continued Codarin’s upward trajectory with three typically rolling tracks and on December 2, Codarin will return to his eponymous label to close out the year with his latest four-track outing, 003.
Like the two releases preceding it, 003 is a collection of idiosyncratic club-cuts aimed squarely at the floor in which Codarin employs intricate percussion, ethereal atmospheres, and trippy samples to project his message. For lovers of deep and driving house, all four tracks on 003 will surely please.
Ahead of the release later this week, you can stream “Everything You Do” via the player above.
Shanahan’s latest release, a cut titled “Reverse Electra,” will form part of New Information‘s Styles for Relaxation Various Artists compilation. Spread across two cassette tapes, the compilation will also feature, among others, Moon B, Ramzi, Cherushii, Aquarium, Body-san, and Ruf Dug.
In support of the compilation—which is also being offered as a name-your-price download—Shanahan has passed over his contribution as today’s XLR8R download. As is the case with much of his previous work, “Reverse Electra” finds Shanahan sitting his lush chords and sun-tinged melodies on top of loose, swinging percussion in a fitting goodbye to summer.
You can download “Reverse Electra” via WeTransfer below, with Styles for Relaxation available over at Bandcamp.

Ross Tones (a.k.a. Throwing Snow) put out his debut album, Mosaic, with Fabric-affiliated Houndstooth back in 2014. He is now set to release a second with the label—14-tracker Embers. The LP was recorded in a small countryside village in County Durham, UK, and according to the label features “sounds captured in the surrounding area” which “became part of the music.”
On the recording, Tones stated: “We are macrocosmic, pattern forming life forms because we have been fine-tuned by evolution to see and hear things in a certain way in order to best survive. We find nature aesthetically pleasing because our minds recognize the complex repeating patterns. Art interprets nature and tries to capture, solidify, use or derive meaning from it in some way.”
Embers will be released on January 20, 2017. Watch the video for “Cosms” below.
“Vril doesn’t say much,” he says, referring to himself in the third person.
This is about as much information as you’re likely to get from the artist, whose first release surfaced on Giegling in the early months of 2010. Since then, while maintaining a low profile in the darker realms of hypnotic techno, he’s released two more 12″s and an LP on the Weimar-based imprint—in 2011 and 2012 respectively—alongside a handful of others on labels including Semantica Records and Delsin. In addition to this, his “Tannhauser Gate” cut was included on Dystopian’s Soliloquy compilation, while Marcel Dettmann ended his fabric 77 mix with the blissful “Torus XXXII”—a jewel in the crown taken from Vril’s fine 2014 Torus LP.
And it is in the long-player format that Vril’s shown the scope of his studio talents. While many of his EPs consist of deep and dark hypnotic techno, his full-lengths—especially Torus—have touched on ambient and downtempo, distanced slightly from the dancefloor but still compatible with the club environment.
Given his studio successes, it’s no surprise that Vril has been touring his live show frequently across Europe and beyond—playing in over 32 countries since 2010, alongside the likes of Rødhåd, Speedy J, and more. His sets, which span various realms of techno, are both thrilling and powerful—sublime treats for those lovers of the genre.
In what is his first podcast in 18 months, Vril delivers a mix of his old and new material—a “collage,” he says, of his finest productions. The 90-minute set is downloadable now via the WeTransfer button below.

Almost 10 years ago, London-based producer Rico Casazza released Psycho Harmonic Language, his debut on Pheek‘s Archipel imprint that, across five varied cuts, presented his deep and slanted take on house and techno. In the years following, Casazza dropped records on, among others, Slant Records, Refine, and Bonzai Elemental, and will now return to Archipel with his sophomore album, Yaman.
Casazza has a knack for presenting different genres whilst keeping his signature sound intact; and Yaman is no different, its eight tracks are a masterclass in striding across styles, from electro to downtempo, deep house, and everything in between. It’s a highly confident release from an artist totally in tune with his sound and its various inclinations.
Yaman will be released on November 30 and can be pre-ordered via Archipel’s Bandcamp, with album cut “Jobsuck” streaming in full via the player above.
For more information on Into The Factory and all the names so far announced, head to festival’s site. The event will run from August 10 – 12, 2017 and tickets are available to purchase here.
Paramagnetism is not the first time that the two techno producers have put out a record together—in 2007 they joined forces for the Excavations EP on the Italian’s own Dozzy Records. The four-tracker will land on Dozzy and Neel‘s Spazio Disponibile, a platform that both of the musicians have already put out solo EPs on. Listeners can expect more of the hypnotic techno that they are individually well known for, plus one ambient cut.
Paramagnetism will be released later this year. Pre-order it at Clone.nl and stream snippets below.
“On Hold” is taken from the trio’s upcoming album, I See You. The new visual accompaniment to the song, which was directed by Alasdair McLellan, is set in Marfa, Texas—the same area that some of the album was recorded. The video features different snapshots of college life in the city, collating footage of cheerleaders, football players and Jamie xx spinning records at a house party.
I See You will be released January 13, 2017. Pre-order it here.
