The latest episode of Red Bull Music Academy‘s Diggin’ in the Carts series has landed, with the new 17-minute installment taking a closer look at the music and composers behind some of Sega’s most influential games. Again, the series taps the likes of Flying Lotus, ikonika, Thundercat, Fatima Al Qadiri, J-Rocc, and others for some insightful commentary between discussing the creation of the funk-laced soundtrack for Sonic the Hedgehog, the club-inspired music of Streets of Rage, and other Sega titles with the composers themselves. Diggin’ in the Carts‘ fourth episode can be watched in its entirety below.

By most accounts the world’s largest annual gathering focused on electronic music, the upcoming Amsterdam Dance Event festival has made its final line-up announcement which includes another helping of impressive acts slated to perform throughout the five-day event. Adding to a line-up that already includes the likes of DJ Koze, Ricardo Villalobos, Hieroglyphic Being, Omar-S, and KiNK, ADE’s latest announcement has revealed that Ben Klock, Joy Orbison (pictured above), Marcel Dettmann, Robert Hood, FKA Twigs, Seven Davis Jr, DJ Harvey, Soul Clap, Julio Bashmore, Surgeon, Legowelt, Voices from the Lake, and Young Marco, among others, will also take part in the festivities.

Taking place from October 15 to the 19 in over 80 different locations across Amsterdam, ADE’s full list of confirmed artists can be found here. Furthermore, the 2014 edition of the festival will also serve as ADE’s final run at Amsterdam’s renowned Trouw club before it closes at the end of the year; Trouw’s full ADE schedule—which includes sets from Four Tet, Jon Hopkins, Leon Vynehall, the Hessle Audio crew, Motor City Drum Ensemble, Talaboman, and Floating Points—can be perused here.

Increasingly active LA-based producer and recent Bubblin’ Up artist Sage Caswell will issue his next effort via the eponymous label of Brooklyn’s Archie Pelago trio. Entitled Good to See You/To Be Continued, the four-track EP will serve as the first release from an outside artist to appear on Archie Pelago Music, which has issued three records from the prolific ensemble since launching in May of 2013. Caswell’s upcoming EP is said to find the burgeoning SoCal aritst “further testing the balance of dark and light textures” while delivering three original cuts marked by murky, soul-touched soundscapes and deep-burrowing rhythms. Furthermore, the EP’s closing effort will find Archie Pelago adding their “overdubs” to Caswell’s “Buyerside” production, a cut which also appeared on the Brooklyn outfit’s 2013 Resident Advisor podcast.

Sage Caswell’s Good to See You/To Be Continued EP will land via Archie Pelago Music on November 3. In the meantime, its artwork and tracklist have been included below.

2014 has seen pioneering Detroit DJ/producer Robert Hood celebrate the 20th anniversary of his M-Plant label with a slew of releases which revisited, re-edited, and remixed classic cuts from the label’s back catalog (he also sat down for a 20 Questions session with us earlier this year). Now, Hood has unveiled his most ambitious plans yet to mark his label’s two-decade run, unveiling the forthcoming three-disc M-Print: 20 Years of M-Plant compilation, which is said to collect “essential Hood moments from the vast M-Plant back catalog, alongside a hoard of new, re-mastered, and unreleased material.”

“M-Print is more than a compilation,” Hood explains in a press release, “I wanted it to flow like a River of Living Water instead of just a flashback. It represents the unfolding of a dream, it represents passion and determination to make something out of nothing. It’s like planting a seed in the ground and watching it grow over time into a beautiful tree.” As such, the upcoming collection has been split into three separate parts, with its first disc exploring “the imprint’s formative years and the golden age of Hood’s minimal approach,” while disc two focuses on “M-Plant material from the last five years and the re-birth of his Floorplan alias.” Lastly, the comp’s third disc is said to take shape as “a statement of intent that looks to the future of M-Plant whilst never losing sight of its past… new and unreleased tracks, re-edits, and remixes tap into classic and contemporary Hood themes.”

The 33-track M-Print compilation is set to see its release just before the year comes to a close, on December 8. In the meantime, Hood will also be reissuing (in both digital and vinyl forms) two EPs from his label’s catalog, the Protein Valve EP (originally released in 1994) and the Moveable Parts Chapter 1 EP (originally released in 1995); the EPs will see a release on October 13 and November 3, respectively. Ahead of all that, the full tracklist for M-Print: 20 Years of M-Plant and both forthcoming reissues have been included below.

Tim Sweeney‘s long-running radio show, Beats in Space, is nearing its 15th anniversary, and to mark the occasion, the NYC-based host and DJ will deliver a two-disc compilation later this fall. As Resident Advisor reports, the first volume of the forthcoming Beats In Space 15th Anniversary collects new and unheard material from the likes of Galcher Lustwork and Barnt, while its second volume—arriving under the umbrella descriptor “Beats in Space Classics”—finds Sweeney singling out 16 tracks that have seen extensive plays on the show over the years; tracklists for both volumes have been posted below.

The Beats In Space 15th Anniversary collection is officially due out on November 10 via the program’s eponymous label in double-CD, 3xLP, and digital formats. Leading up to its release, Sweeney is set to play three anniversary events in Europe, starting at London’s Corsica Studios on September 26, then heading to Paris the next day to play Rex Club, and finishing up at Panorama Bar in Berlin on October 18.

Shed has shared a recording of his score for German vampire film Nosferatu. As Resident Advisor reports, the Berlin-based producer—best known for his Detroit-influenced, melodic take on techno—initially performed the score at Berghain last November, and a “slightly stripped down version” of the composition (which was recorded in Leipzig and runs just under 84 minutes) has now been made available to stream and download here, under the title The NOS Project. The piece is only available to grab as a single track, but timestamps have been included on the download page, and we’ve listed the 16 individual tracks below.

Jon Hopkins has shared details of a new EP forthcoming on Domino, which reinterprets material from his 2013 album Immunity. As Pitchfork reports, the UK artist recorded Asleep Versions last winter at Sundlaugin Studios near Reykjavik, Iceland. The EP is designed to be heard as a continuous, 25-minute whole, with each of its four “decelerated, dreamlike re-imaginings” representing a “quieter, more meditative side” of tracks from the album (which we named an XLR8R pick). Vocals from Raphaelle Standell of Braids and Blue Hawaii also feature throughout the release.

Asleep Versions will arrive on November 10 in Europe (and a day later in the US) as an individual release and as part of a limited-edition CD package, together with Immunity. A teaser trailer for the album, directed by comics illustrator Robert Hunter, can be watched below. Hopkins has also announced a brace of international tour dates; these can also be found below, along with the EP’s tracklist.
