Set to follow up his 2013 debut long-player with the upcomingComma Sutra EP later this month, NYC producer Slava has shared his recent hour-long live performance for Boiler Room to watch in full. Kicking off the Software label’s takeover last month, Slava tweaks a lone piece of Korg hardware (which appears to be connected to at least one other device via MIDI) as he weaves through an intoxicating series of original productions, keeping the mood, speed, and intensity of his set nicely varied throughout the performance.

Slava’s full set for Boiler Room can be seen below, and those interested in hearing just the audio can do so over on SoundCloud, where recordings of Huerco S. and Thug Entrancer performing at the same showcase are also available—here and here, respectively. In addition, Slava’s full Comma Sutra EP is currently streaming over on Dazed Digital ahead of its release on March 25.

Body High co-owner Samo Sound Boy is on a bit of streak as of late, appearing regularly throughoutXLR8R‘s News feed as he led up to this week’s release of his Open/Divine EP. He also gave away a synth-soaked remix of that record’s a-side cut by recent Body High signee Motions just this past Monday, and today, the LA-based DJ/producer has delivered a brand-new mix as a free download. Here’s the kicker: Samo Sound Boy’s latest session is four hours long. The SoCal artist explains to Dummy how the mix came about, saying, “I recorded this mix in one take with my friend Joaquin’s CDJs. I actually woke up really early from an earthquake in LA today, and had been feeling kind of off because of it. I wanted to just go into my zone with this, so I turned my phone off and just DJed for four hours. It ended up being a really good afternoon.” Dummy’s latest podcast arrived with no tracklist, but the mix can nonetheless be streamed and downloaded in the player below below.

Originally produced in 1980 and 1982, respectively, Craig Leon‘s classic cosmic synth albums, Nommos and Visiting, will be re- editioned on RVNG‘s forthcoming Anthology of Interplanetary Folk Music Vol. 1.

Described as “a collection of incorporeal melodies generated by the Oberheim OB-X, Roland JP-4, and Arp 2600 synthesizers, [and] propelled by primitive rhythms programmed on a prototype of Roger Linn’s nascent drum-machine, the LM-1,” Leon’s Nommos LP has actually been re-recorded for this new edition, after its original masters were “lost in major label merger milieu years ago.” Still, the new version of Nommos is said to be extremely faithful to the original record (which included the collaborative efforts of Leon’s wife and creative partner Cassell Webb), as “Leon has in fact re-animated Nommos by re-recording the exact audio signals as preserved in the album’s original studio notes.” Joining the “re-animated” recording will be a remastered version of Leon’s 1982 synth exploration Visiting, though, as RVNG points out, Leon has “made subtle edits and compositional additions to both albums to enhance the connectivity and encourage infinite interpretation.”

Bringing the two LPs together for the first time in an authorized re-package, Anthology of Interplanetary Folk Music Vol. 1 will see an official release on June 23. In the meantime, the forthcoming collection’s full tracklist is included below, along with a video for album track “One Hundred Steps.”

Jersey City producer Jorge Velez has been tinkering in his studio since the ’90s, but it’s only in recent years that his musical exploits—especially the ones under his Professor Genius moniker—have received much attention. (That said, his given name did get some shine when Rush Hour issued the MMT Tape Series compilation in 2012, which collected some of Velez’s lo-fi techno home recordings from the mid-to-late ’90s.) Next month, Velez will begin a series of 2014 releases with a new LP for L.I.E.S. The much-discussed NYC label was previously home to Hassan, Velez’s 2012 LP as Professor Genius, but he’ll now be returning to the imprint under his own name. The new LP is called Territories, and it’s said to “weave menacing drones to EBM-influenced floor tracks to Sakamoto-esque melodic experiments into a distinct atmosphere suitable for home listening or adventurous club play.” The record is due to arrive on April 15, but its artwork, tracklist, and a stream of closing cut “Venas” have been made available and can all be found below.

While a new LP is generally enough for most artists, Velez is planning to follow it up with several more releases in the months ahead. As FACT reports, Velez will be saying goodbye to the Professor Genius name for “the foreseeable future” following a new EP, Cara, for the Borneo label and a contribution to Throne of Blood‘s forthcomingMoon Rock compilation. He’ll also be dropping Ausland, a two-track 12″ for Rush Hour, Aventuras, a four-track EP for Crème Organization, and Intramuros, a 12″ for Skudge. Further details on those records have yet to be revealed, but one thing is certain—we’ll be hearing a lot from Velez in 2014.

After popping up on Styles Upon Styles‘ first compilation at the end of last year, Melbourne-based producer Kloke (a.k.a Andy Donnely) is set to drop his six-song Sea Levels record via the Brooklyn label on April 21, and has sent over an experimental video for EP cut “Ritual” to give us a taste of its sounds. Filmed and directed by Jordan Levie, the hypnotizing piece was created using food coloring and oil-based paints, featuring close-up shots of the bright colors gently cascading through water before switching to a dark red mixture in the final quarter of the video. The ethereal visuals are appropriately coupled with “Ritual”‘s floating rhythm, soporific bass frequencies, and dripping ambient noises, all of which keep an even-tempered pace throughout the entire tune.

John Roberts has been releasing quality records for more than five years now, but it’s hard not to see Fences—his sophomore LP and one of XLR8R‘s top releases of 2013—as a new high-water mark for the New York City producer. Given that, the news that he’ll soon be issuing a new EP for Dial, his longtime label home, is very welcome indeed.

Slated to arrive on May 12, the three-track Ausio EP is said to incorporate Roberts’ penchant for acoustical research and experimentation. The a-side is described as an “enchanting floorsmasher,” while the two cuts on the flip are said to be “soulful groovers” that encapsulate the “classic John Roberts sound.” We’ll have to wait until May to find out, but in the meantime, the artwork and tracklist have been made available, and can be viewed below.
