Berlin’s Else will start the summer 2019 season with a party on April 28.
Headlining the event is Dekmantel Soundsystem, the collaborative project of Thomas Martojo and Casper Tielrooij, hailing from the Netherlands and known for their seductive surprises and groovy gems. Martojo and Tielrooij are joined by compatriot Olf van Elden (a.k.a. Interstellar Funk), a De School resident whose selections stand out for their timeless melodies and left-field eccentricities. Expect new wave, electro, techno, jack-tracks, heavy electronics, and just about everything in between.
Also set to perform are Australian producer DJ Boring, a long-time friend of the club who’s sure to deliver another killer house set; Marlon Hoffstadt, a regular host at Salon zur Wilden Renate; and Stockholm’s DJ Clea, a rising name in contemporary house and techno, and now boasting an appearance on DJ Haus’ UTTU / Hot Haus Recs. Rounding out the bill are resident DJs Peak & Swift and Sebastian Voigt.
Else is the open-air location of Salon zur Wilden Renate and gets its name from its location near Elsenbrücke, where Kreuzberg, Treptow, Friedrichshain, and the Rummelsburg Bay of Alt-Stralau meet.
After a two-year hiatus, French-Icelandic now London-based producer Daniel Ness is set to return with his debut EP, Shy, out April 5 via Slugabed’s Activia Benz.
We’re told that the six-track EP is a deeply personal project fueled by cultural identity, self-isolation, and lost romances. It’s said to reveal a more honest and mature side of the producer, and sees him juggle between eclectic hard-hitting club-inspired tracks and void-like reverberated piano lines with harsh ambient tones.

Early next month, JauntRecords will release a new remix VA, 10 YRS RMX EP1.
The release features four reworks of cuts from Jaunt’s 10-year anniversary release, 10 Years of Jaunt – Sea, Land, Air, released back in November of 2017 and featuring tracks from Basic Soul Unit, Luke Hess, Hiver, Artefakt, AWOL, and Jaunt founders Blackhall & Bookless, among others. Now, the release returns with fresh interpretations from Inland, Jonas Kopp, Jasper Wolff and Maarten Mittendorff, and Gian.
Opening the EP is Inland with a searing, synth-heavy rework of Blackhall & Bookless’ “Spirit.” Up next, Jonas Kopp delivers a cavernous remix of Hiver’s “Itria,” before Jasper Wolff and Maarten Mittendorff turn their hand to Kaelan’s “Meandering Rivers,” twisting it into an ethereal dub outing. Finally, Gian rounds out the release with funk-filled electro rework of Stojche’s “The Exchange.”
10 YRS RMX EP1 is set to drop on April 16 and can be pre-ordered here, with Gian’s remix streaming in full below.
Back at the start of this month, Kohra released Acid Kidz, a five-track EP featuring two originals and remixes from Kotelett & Zadak, SHFT, and FILM.
Landing on his own Qilla Records, the EP presents a collection of 303-driven cuts. The cavernous atmospheres and slicing breakbeats of the title track kick start the EP before it rolls into the more melodic sensibilities of the hypnotic “Vedanta.” All three remixes give inspired takes on the originals, from Kotelett & Zadak’s eerie interpretation of “Vedanta” to SHFT and FILM’s floor-focused reworks of the title track, with the former going down a warped, unconventional path and the latter a drum & bass-influenced direction.
In support of the release, which you can grab here, Qilla has offered up FILM’s remix as one of today’s XLR8R downloads, available via WeTransfer below.

The annual event launched in 1997 and has since evolved from a one-day rave to a full three-day festival featuring over 60 artists a year.
“If someone told us in 1998 what might be happening two decades later at our beloved summer celebration we probably would have declared that person insane,” the official statement reads. “Now we are here and we couldn’t be happier and more thankful for all the editions of Nachtdigital we celebrated together with you. Nachtdigital achieved everything—far more than what we had ever expected. With a big smile we remember every single summer in Olganitz. We will carry around all those very personal memories in our hearts, forever.”
This year’s closing edition, dubbed Nachtdigital Mint, will again take place at the festival’s longstanding home, Bungalowdorf Olganitz, from August 2 to 4. Scheduled to perform are Helena Hauff, Gerd Janson, Marie Davidson, Vlada, Ossia, Atom™ & Tobias., Job Jobse, Paquita Gordon, Robag Wruhme, Oceanic, Sa Pa, Powder, and Batu, among many others.

Full Statement
“Let’s cut straight to the point: Nachtdigital 2019 will be the last of its kind. After 22 wild and fulfilling years of Nachtdigital, we are ready to try something different.
“If someone told us in 1998 what might be happening two decades later at our beloved summer celebration we probably would have declared that person insane. Now we are here and we couldn’t be happier and more thankful for all the editions of Nachtdigital we celebrated together with you. Nachtdigital achieved everything—far more than what we had ever expected. We started as a one-day-rave with record players on the balcony of the main building at the bungalow village and came all the way to a proper three-day festival held on five different stages including 60 and more artists each year. With joy we remember every single summer in Olganitz. We will keep all those very personal memories in our hearts, forever. Without a doubt, we will miss our dear lady from the bottom of our hearts. It’s easy to say you need to stop while the fun lasts but to know exactly when this point is reached no one can tell you and honestly we had a difficult time to get there and to realize when will be the right time to close this long-lasting chapter of our lives. Now we are here, more than two decades full of memories, challenges and happiness – it’s about time to mark the end of an era with a big smile on our faces and say ‘Thank YOU—for being Nachtdigital.’
“So, let’s bow out on a high note and have an epic last edition of Nachtdigital together. Let’s lay all our love on each other and say “Goodbye” to our beloved friend. Because one thing is for sure: Nachtdigital is going out with a BIG BANG!”
With his new project Age is a Box, artist/producer Noam Helfer warms up for his debut album with the release of his latest single, One By One. It marries organic and synthetic textures as well as live instrumentation and digital sound—deep pensive ambience clashes against lively, upbeat rhythms and heartfelt vocals. On remix duties is Curses, who blends Helfer’s ghostly vocals and guitar with the darker side of disco and psychedelic synth.
In support of the release, out today via NeedWant, you can download the Curses mix via the WeTransfer button below, or here for EU readers.
Pépé Bradock will release his latest album, What A Mess!, via his own Atavisme label this coming May.
The album, Bradock’s first since 1998’s Synthèse, follows two recent EPs, Exodus 8 and ATA019, both through Atavisme last year. It consists of one track split across two sides, and has no tracklisting because “I like the idea that the listener or owner of the record can freely pick the tracks’ names according to his own interpretation, while listening, with the words on the back of the cover since they were used to compose the music,” Bradock explains.
“It all started with words, and a project for an art book with a CD—acronym for Corps Diplomatiques—as a tribute to a special diplomatic elephant called Abul Abbas,” the Parisian house producer adds. “A few mundane terms, picked randomly, then coupled with frequencies chosen in a spontaneous way for their presupposed properties or synchronicities, whether in space, orbital rhythms, color spectrum, or electro-magnetic fields. Those free associations became the foundation for a written composition, the reprogramming of recordings of computer improvisations, and a dialogue with the visual elements of the book.”
The vinyl-only release is limited to 1000 copies, and comes with original artwork from Bradock’s past Atavisme 12″s. A book about the label’s design history is also forthcoming later this year.

Amiata is described as a conglomerate of Fröhlich’s longstanding experience. Just like his DJ sets and his work for Permanent Vacation, the label he’s co-run together with Tom Bioly since 2006, it expresses different facets of his musical preferences. The tracks range from dub hybrids to disco and boogie-inspired tracks, ’90s spacey breakbeats, and electro to classic house.
“It is an in-depth exploration of his background and Benjamin Fröhlich’s passion to combine the unforgettable past and the gripping present with the tunes of tomorrow,” the label explains.
Fröhlich has previously released several 12-inches on the Munich-based label.
