Materialized Psychism Of The Bottomless Void arrives following Moss’ album for Ninja Tune and a 12″ for Rush Hour—and is intended as a celebration of the London label’s 10-year anniversary.

Fiedel Set for Debut Ostgut Ton 12″

Ostgut Ton will release the first full 12″ release by longstanding Berghain (and previously OstGut club) resident Fiedel.

Fiedel’s debut 12″ has been a long time coming. The Berlin-Brandenburg native was there when the wall came down, started DJing in the 1990s at Subversiv, began producing with Errorsmith as MMM in 1996, held a residency at OstGut from 2000 on, and has continued doing so at Berghain since 2004. He also runs his own labels Fiedelone and Fiedeltwo, used to work at Hard Wax record store, and is a mainstay at Wax Treatment and Killasan Soundsystem.

The Substance B three-tracker arrives following Fiedel’s contributions to the label’s compilations Fünf (2010), Various (2013), and Ostgut Ton | Zehn (2015).

Djebali feat. John Dimas ‘Suzaku’

Parisian producer Djebali recently released his debut album, titled 5.

The number not only marks the number of years that have passed since his label was conceived but also represents the months it took to complete his very first long-player. This is an important milestone in any artist’s career, the first time they have the opportunity to create something timeless—a culmination of all of their experiences so far, and a statement about where they are, and where they’re going.

Djebali’s entry into house music came via his early DJ forays with a college friend. The duo picked music that was a happy medium between his beloved hip-hop and the “super super hard” hardcore music Djebali’s friend liked. From that point onwards he was hooked, eventually hitting the clubs and making all the right connections that led to his first release, with Jay Haze on Tuning Spork in 2008. Fast forward eight years and he’s now head of his own label, ( djebali ), which he’s using to self-release his debut LP.

The album is a collection of dancefloor-focused tracks, interspersed with a few experiments and unified by Djebali’s love of deep, sultry grooves and classic house motifs—the result of six months in the studio with his collection of vintage gear. To keep the music cohesive, he maintained a working process that involved working on all the projects on this album in the same session.

5 is available to purchase now. In addition to this, “Suzaku,” a groovy and melodic album highlight featuring John Dimas, is available to download via the WeTransfer button below.

Stream Matthew Dear’s DJ-Kicks in Full

DJ, producer, vocalist, and instrumentalist Matthew Dear is up next in the DJ-Kicks series and has made the compilation available to stream in full now, ahead of its release on Friday.

A man of many musical hats, Texas-born, Detroit-raised Dear has a wide reaching discography that takes in techno as Jabberjaw, dark avant-pop under his own name, and intricate minimal as Audion.

As co-founder of both Ghostly International and Spectral Sound, Dear has also been responsible for some of the underground scene’s most exciting new music, plenty of which appears here. Included along the way are three new and exclusive cuts from Dear himself, one under his own name and two as Audion. Also helping to add to the left-of-center vibe are inclusions by artists as diverse as Thatmanmonkz and Matrixxmann, ItaloJohnson and Pearson Sound, Randomer, and Simian Mobile Disco.

“I always have a lot of unreleased music laying around, those I included on here seemed to fit. A mix like this is always a good place to showcase my own productions, but I didn’t want to oversaturate it with my own stuff.”

“I wanted to create a mix that could be listened to anywhere, and reflect a little bit of everything that I play. Whether you’re in your car, preparing to open the club, or having a bottle of wine with friends at home, this mix is for you.”

Letherette EP Gets Digital Release

On November 25, 2016, Letherette released the limited edition cassette Where Have All The People Gone?—a 40-minute mix of previously unreleased Letherette productions to partner the release of their second album for Ninja Tune, Last Night On The Planet. The collection— which explores ambient and deeper beats territory—will now see a digital release on January 31, 2017.

Where Have All The People Gone? picks up where Last Night On The Planet ends… a cold, grey landscape. The aftermath,” explains Andy. “Saturated onto cassette (Marantz CP430) a number of times to give it a crusty, aged and brittle edge, the playlist was conceived on a typically bleak night-bus ride through Birmingham.”

Antal Preps All-Japanese Mix Cassette

Antal is next in the Altered Soul Experiment cassette mix series.

Following a recent trip to Japan, the Rush Hour boss has assembled a two-side cassette mix for the Altered Soul Experiment series. Taking inspiration from the time he spent there, Antal’s offering is one that contains exclusively Japanese music—a mixture of ambient, electronica and everything from “rare jazz-fusion to traditional Japanese music.”

On the release, the Dutch DJ reflects: “I had December and snowflakes in Japan on my mind. I used to love the Takeshi Kitano’s movies for instance but also the soundtracks. So I have a weak spot for this Japanese nostalgia.” The forthcoming cassette mix follows 2016 contributions to the series by Marcellus Pittman, GE-OLOGY and Patrick Gibin.

ASE07-CASS is due out February 6. Pre-order it at the Altered Soul Experiment store.

Alva Noto ‘Xerrox Monophaser 2’ (Some Chemistry’s Kepler-452b Space Jam)

Amsterdam-based artist Some Chemistry is somewhat of a music chameleon. Inspired by the sounds of African and South American music, with the music of London and his now home Amsterdam also touchstones, Some Chemistry has released on Bar25 Music, URS, and Voltaire, while curating well-respected club nights such as PRISMA in Studio 80 and Pixel in Trouw, and acting as the ambassador of the Next Monday’s Hangover parties.

Some Chemistry’s latest track, an edit of Alva Noto’s “Xerrox Monophaser 2,” is being offered as today’s XLR8R download via WeTransfer below. Like much of Some Chemistry’s music, the interestingly titled Kepler-452b Space Jam is a heady arrangement of avant-garde electronics.

Sam Willis (a.k.a. Primitive World) Details the Casio RZ-1

In part three of ‘Under The Radar‘—a series by Point Blank that details overlooked and affordable pieces of hardware—Sam Willis (a.k.a. Primitive World) and Declan McGlynn take a look at the Casio RZ-1.

A 12-bit sampler that has been described by some as a “poor man’s SP-1200,” the RZ-1’s on board sampling lets you create up to four of your own percussion sounds, all controlled by an easy-to-use and effective sequencer with a unique low-fi sound.

You can watch the video in full via the player below, with more on Point Blank and its course here.
