Launched very recently with a four-tracker by Luca Cara (a.k.a. Spacetravel), Melliflow is keeping momentum up with the announcement of their next EP: a three track record by Romanian producers Dan Andrei and Serban Goanta. The duo have put out one release together previously as AK41, in April of this year via Zimbru.
You can catch Kozo and Dan Andrei both spinning alongside label heads Vera and Alexandra at their Melliflow party, taking place at Berlin’s Club der Visionaere on June 8.
Directed by Baltimore filmmaker Theo Anthony, the video for the somber yet palatable track ‘Rekr’ was inspired by “the notion of viewing technology as something that is inherently connected to the organic and vice versa,” Takahashi explains. This fusion of the technologic and organic acts as an overarching theme in Takahashi’s recently released album ‘NoGeo’, which favors a minimalist, rhythmic style over Teengirl Fantasy’s traditionally sleek, elastic sound.

The final release from M_REC LTD will be a double vinyl compilation put together in tribute to its late founder, Italian DJ and producer Max_M.
Max Magrini (a.k.a. Max_M) passed away one year ago, in May 2015, following a battle with cancer. He had launched M_REC LTD back in 2009, and had an illustrious career in the techno world. Today Resident Advisor reported news that the label will put out one final release, paying homage to its founder.
EMME (a title which was chosen in reference to Magrini’s nickname amongst friends) will feature eight previously unreleased tracks by artists who had been close with the owner, including the likes of Stanislav Tolkachev, Samuli Kemppi, Wrong Assessment, as well as Regis, who remixes a cut by Overall Severity (the collaborative project between Magrini and Wrong Assessment). Each of the producers will write a short testimonial on the back of the package, and it will also include a picture of Magrini.
EMME is due out soon via M_REC LTD, and will be available to pre-order via 712 Distribution from June 15.

Larry Heard (a.k.a. Mr. Fingers) is in charge of a two-disc mix CD celebrating Italian label Rebirth‘s tenth anniversary.
Rebirth was launched back in 2006 by Daniele Contrini (a.k.a. Shield), and has played host to a wealth of artists including Motor City Drum Ensemble and Andrés, as well as the likes of Tevo Howard and Freaks. In celebration of a decade in business, deep house legend Larry Heard has mixed over two and a half hours of music from the label’s back catalog, which will be released over a two-disc set.
The compilation follows Heard’s resurrection of his Mr. Fingers alias earlier this year: having not released a new EP under the moniker for over a decade, he put out a well-received four-tracker via his own Alleviated Records back in February.

Spanish techno producer J.C. has a seven track album entitled Mugako on the way via Madrid-based imprint Semantica this August.
Jose Cabrera has been releasing under his J.C. moniker since 2013, via his own imprints Cabrera, J.C. and A Harmless Deed, as well the likes of Tresor, Deeply Rooted and Fred P‘s Soul People Music (through which he dropped last year’s Portrait Of The Flying Sky album). His upcoming LP is described by Semantica as “a sparse techno world with alien life forms, unsettled feelings and dystopian vibes a plenty.” It is set to be the fifth instalment in their “Exhibition Design” series.
The release will drop during the thick of the label’s 10th anniversary celebrations. Svreca‘s imprint is marking the occasion with a ten-part release series (made up of tracks from various Semantica-related artists), as well as a global tour.
Mugako is due out August 26 as a CD and digital download.
Only 18 years old, Seamus Malliagh (a.k.a Iglooghost) must be one of the youngest and most imaginative producers on our radars. Ever since he was 17, Malliagh been releasing music, much of it through it is own Bandcamp page or through one of several imprints, including Error Broadcast, Activia Benz and Flying Lotus‘ illustrious Brainfeeder. It was through the latter that he released his Chinese Nü Yr EPin 2015, a frantic, brisk, grime-infused debut that was accompanied by the chimerical phantasy of a gooey worm-like creature and his witch hat named xiāngjiāo. Three more releases further down, the latest of which dropped in March this year, and Malliagh has captured the imagination of the worldwide electronic music community for his both sound and utterly bizarre visual aesthetic. It’s no mistake that the answers to the questions below are typed up in the same waggishly brilliant ALL CAPS as his social media channels. Up next, it would seem, is a debut full-length, although a date is yet to be set—but first is the much-anticipated XLR8R podcast, a one-hour mix loaded full of exclusive material.

How did you approach this mix in comparison to a regular DJ set? I MADE THIS RLLY SLOWLY & MANUALLY IN ABLETON BECAUSE WHEN I DO PROPER MIXES ON TRAKTOR I START SWEATING & I CAN’T SLEEP AFTERWARDS BECAUSE ALL I CAN THINK ABOUT IS MIXING & GETTING WORRIED I’M GOING TO RUIN EVERYONE’S NIGHT.
What else have you got coming up this year? I’VE BEEN WRITING AN ALBUM ALL YEAR. IT’S ALL I DO IN MY WAKING HOURS. Throughout the 2010s, Doctor Dru (a.k.a. Hamburg-based Martin Druzella) has been a force to be reckoned with in the European deep house community. As the founder of JEUDI Records, Druzella has provided a local home for fellow German house devotees such as Sidney Charles and Adana Twins. As a DJ and producer, he has developed a signature sound full of wistful melancholy, complemented by a deep knowledge of the music he champions. In recent years, with production credits for the likes of Bootsy Collins as well as a stint in live drumming, Druzella has been hard at work recalibrating his hardware and reexamining his artistic process.
Doctor Dru has submitted a rework of “Creeper” by British bass-infused rock outfit The Acid for today’s XLR8R download. The introspective dancefloor anthem speaks to the studied production chops and emotive capabilities he has carefully cultivated over the years.
Lessizmore began back in 2005 as a party at legendary Parisian venue Le Triptyque, and has since grown into a worldwide events brand, booking agency, and fully-fledged label with a focus on pushing new and emerging artists and sounds.
For Forever Never More, label founders Jessica Bossuyt and Pierre Noisiez wanted to represent where the label is currently at, sonically speaking. The compilation presents a beautiful collection of club-based tracks that show how wide reaching the label’s sound is, from some of the event series’ earliest guests and newer collaborators alike.

After releasing his new album, Good Luck and Do Your Best, last week via City Slang, Gold Panda has shared new visuals for album standout track, “Chiba Nights.”
Speaking about the ”Chiba Night” video, director Dan Tombs offered a little insight into the making of the visuals:
“Spending a week in Tokyo and surrounding areas of Chiba and Minowa with Derwin, searching for unusual records, video games, payphones, workwear and LaserDiscs, I captured the rich visual environment of the country and fun moments spending time with friends and family. This is sliced into a grid of sixteen squares in reference to the MPC sampler that Gold Panda creates all his music with, changing with the rhythm of the track colliding the sights, colors and shapes together and breaking out in psychedelic kaleidoscopes.“
