Vincent Casanova LP Next on Archipel Musique

Vincent Casanova will release a new LP on Archipel Musique, titled Esoterica.

Vincent Casanova has been producing and DJing electronic records since 2000—though he began playing the drums and guitar long before he acquired a synthesizer. His first vinyl release arrived in 2004 on New York’s Sifted Recordings; since then, he’s worked hard in the studio to compile a sizeable discography that consists of four full-lengths and many more EPs, shared between labels including Tip Tap Records, Tzinah Records, Archipel, and Kindisch, most recently. He is also beginning to DJ in clubs across Europe, having refined his skills playing at smaller venues and after-parties in New York city, just a few hours from his birthplace of Connecticut.

The label describes the release as “a collection of grooves drawing down smooth, tantalizing along the way. inspiration and stylistic leanings from a wide array of dance music’s subtle, unpredictable and shadowy realms.” Connoisseurs of deeper, minimalistic and dubby soundscapes “will not be disappointed,” adds the label.

Tracklisting

01.Mind boxing
02. Dubswirl
03. Magic Well
04. The Black Tiger
05. Druid’s Drink
06. Life of Shadows
07.Soft

Esoterica is scheduled for April 20 release, with clips streamable here.

Acid Pauli Shares a Stunning New Mix

Back at the end of last Month, Acid Pauli released his sophomore full-length, BLD, via his and Nico Stojan’s label Ouïe.

Following on from his 2012 debut on Nicolas Jaar’s Clown and Sunset label, BLD is a mind-bending eight-track journey that was derived from an idea he had been carrying around for years to create a body of work consisting of techno and house breaks—the parts of tracks which lack the main beat, the kick drum. Sitting somewhere in the nether regions between ambient and house, the album is a highly unique piece of work that defies the all-too-standard “tension and release” scheme of much of today’s electronic music. At once melancholic, uplifting, and pensive, BLD undoubtedly furthers Acid Pauli’s reputation for crafting singular pieces of art.

Following the release of the album, Acid Pauli has crafted a mix that looks to the same concept. Built from trippy synth tracks, ambience, and stitched field recordings, the hour-long mix is a perfect accompaniment to BLD.

You can stream the mix, which is titled BRK, via the player below. Acid Pauli also has a string of showcases and tour dates on the horizon, with the dates and locations also available below.

Premiere: Hear a Cut from Cvd’s Debut Album

Parisian producer Cvd (a.k.a. Charles Dollé) first appeared on our pages in 2014 with his glistening track “Jungle Cahandy.” In the years since, Cvd has stayed on our radar, consistently producing stunning electronic compositions, including his 2016 remix of Chassol’s “Lôôôve You Negacra,” which we offered as a free download.

His debut album, Elsewhere Nowhere, will arrive on May 5 and presents a futuristic concept in which “human beings of the year 2047 approach reality solely through the medium of ‘meta(s),’ new immersive technologies that connect them to an improved, augmented reality.” Via glistening instrumentation and a deft production hand, Cvd lays out his futuristic vision with beautiful clarity.

Ahead of the album release, you can stream album cut “And Man Created Karma” in full below, alongside a mind-bending 360° animated trailer for the album.

You can pre-order the album here.

Temporary State Releases ‘TS004’

Grant‘s Temporary State will soon release TS004, a collection of tracks “sought after gems” by the likes of legends such as Dan Curtin, The Rurals, and Merrick Brown, plus one exclusive unreleased track by Ewan Jansen.

The release comes after June 2016’s TS001 and September’s TS002, the former of which compiled rare tracks by peak:shift from his own now-defunct seminal record label Nurture, plus one previously unreleased track “Door Jam.” TS003 arrived in February and consisted of various tracks from various aliases of Andy Compton.

According to the label, the sounds of TS004 range from “deep and contemplative house to more jackin moods.”

Hear a New Track from Lonely C & Tom Trago

Soul Clap‘s eagerly awaited Fabric mix will drop tomorrow.

For their installment in the esteemed series, Soul Clap venture through hip-hop, funk, soul, disco, and modern house. The mix signals a decade of releases and follows on from last year’s self-titled artist album and their 2015 EP with seminal funk legend George Clinton. It’s a typically unconventional mix from the duo, from the soulful rhythms of Baltimore duo Life On Planets to Ken Gill’s house anthem “Love Moon.”

On the mix, the duo state:

“It’s a huge honor to do a fabric mix and we wanted to make it special, and paint a picture of our eclectic musical world, but stay rooted in house music. We have so many memories at fabric and this mix represents the music that we play there, faster tempo, more electronic drums, deep and trippy sounds. But we still believe that mixes should be appropriate to listen to at home, on your headphones, or at an afterparty getting silly with friends; energetic, but always gentle.”

Ahead of tomorrow’s release, you can stream Lonely C (one-half of Soul Clap) and Tom Trago‘s “The Compass Joint,” a tribute to the legendary studio in the Bahamas, in full via the player below.

Catz ‘N Dogz, Green Velvet to Play Inaugural RHA Festival

RHA Festival has announced plans and dropped the initial lineup for its debut edition, set to take place from June 30 to July 1 at Punta Mita in the Riviera Nayarit region of Mexico.

The festival will treat attendees to top notch musical programming at a pristine beachside location, with artists from the likes of Green Velvet, Dimitri from Paris, Walker & Royce, Marques Wyatt, Teenage Mutants, Halo, and more all set to perform. RHA will also offer sunset yoga classes, dance lessons, beach parties, fireworks, as well as world class surfing and water sports.

More information can be found here, and you can view the full lineup for RHA Festival below.

Alchemic Harm ‘Paradisaeidae’

Alchemic Harm is a raw and ritualistic ambient project whose new self-titled album landed on experimental techno label Instruments of Discipline at the end of last month.

The album follows a self-titled EP, which also featured collaborations with Lower Order Ethics. On the album, the duo navigates through murky field recordings, industrial rhythms, and swirling, eerie soundscapes, from the growling percussion of “Caion” to the aggressive machinery “Hiraeth” and the fragmented melodies on “Scaphism.”

With Alchemic Harm, Instruments Of Discipline furthers its reputation for putting out groundbreaking sonic experiments. You can purchase the album here, with album cut “Paradisaeidae” available as a free download via WeTransfer below.
