Theo Fraga ‘Poesia’ (Alistair & Lorenzo Remix)

São Paulo’s Gooseneck Records has recently released the Poesia EP, aiming to combine the best from the current underground artists in Brazil. The EP consists of three remixes of Theo Fraga‘s “Poesia” original—a track whose name stems from the poem by famous Brazilian writer Adriana Falcão.

We’re told that this latest release “surprises with audacity and creativity, combining very personal interpretations by each artist.” In support of the release, the label has offered up the Alistair & Lorenzo remix of title track “Poesia,” with a teaser for the EP streaming above.

C.A.R. ‘Eyes On You’

Next month, Chloé Raunet (a.k.a. C.A.R.) will release PINNED, the anticipated follow-up to her debut album, My Friend, via Ransom Note Records.

The new album finds Raunet refining her palette with a collection of post-punk-influenced electronics. Across 11 tracks, Raunet glides through everything woozy downtempo to gritty drum-led punk outings, all with stitched together with an undeniable swagger.

In support of the LP, Raunet has offered up a bonus track recorded during the same studio sessions as the album, although its raucous energy didn’t quite fit, as Raunet explains:

“For fun, fun, fun. A proper winter stomp-around with the elephant in the closet. This track didn’t quite fit in with the rest of PINNED but we still wanted to get it out there.”

You can download “Eyes On You” below, with PINNED dropping next month.

Seekers to Release Luca Piermattei LP

The next Seekers release comes in the shape of an album from Luca Piermattei.

Luca Piermattei is an unknown producer with no previous releases to his name. He’s described as a “very talented producer” who will have more releases on “big labels” soon. He sent Seekers 163 tracks all recorded onto tape on tape cassette and the label has spent a year deciding which ones to release, working them into an album.

Seekers have been throwing parties across Europe since October 2014. The label, which focuses on albums, boasts previous releases from the likes of Justin Zerbst and Alex Picone. Following its usual anonymous approach, the producer behind the tracks is kept discreet, although it’s now been confirmed that Luca Piermattei is the artist behind it.

The label will present two different copies of the LP: one double 12″ with 400 copies, also 300 copies of a special edition featuring two “special tracks” on an extra 7″. The limited edition is already sold out in presale at the distribution.

Parallel Life’s Feeling LP will land on January 26, with clips streaming below.

Matthewdavid Announces New Album

Matthewdavid has announced his new album, Time Flying Beats.

The album sits in contrast to the meditative ambient released under his Matthewdavid’s Mindflight alias, in turn presenting a collection of beat-driven cuts that touch on “footwork, chopped and screwed hip-hop and soul samples, and classic LA beat scene vibes.”

The first taste of the album can be heard below in “Time Flying,” a bass-heavy footwork-influenced track that first received airtime when Matthewdavid played it at beat scene home Low End Theory.

Time Flying Beats will be available digitally and via limited cassette on LEAVING Records on January 19 and can be pre-ordered here.

Lucy’s Stroboscopic Artefacts Preps New Yotam Avni’s Solo EP

Yotam Avni will return to Lucy‘s Stroboscopic Artefacts for the third time with a new solo EP, Perlude To Dybbuk.

The Tel-Aviv centred Yotam Avni officially joined forces with Stroboscopic Artefacts in 2016, turning in a sensual an invigorating entry for the Monad series, namely Monad XXII. Thanks to his personalized fusion of esoteric and worldly sound elements, Avni returned with Tehillim—and now he’s set to release Perlude To Dybbuk.

As with Avni’s previous Monad contribution, the new Perlude to Dybbuk makes references—both in title and in sonic content—to the ancient Hebrew folklore of his homeland (a “dybbuk” being a kind of limbonic spirit attaching itself to the body of a living human until it has successfully reached its final destination).

The three-track release will be the second Stroboscopic Artefacts release to feature a new artwork design from the label’s Oblique Artefacts team that’s based on imagery of scanned foliage. It follows Alessandro Adriani‘s Entire The Fire EP from last month.

Tracklisting

A. Avka (New Life)
B1. Dybbuk
B2. Modern Matters

Perlude To Dybbuk will land on January 19, with “Modern Matters” streaming in full below.

Abby Lee Tee ‘Efeu’ (Ylwfrnd Remix)

For today’s XLR8R download, Shash Records has offered up a remix by Swedish producer Yellowfriend (a.k.a. Ylwfrnd). For the rework, Yellowfriend turns his hand to Abby Lee Tee‘s “Efeu,” a cut from his 2015 album, By Accident, twisting it into a deep and morphing nine-minute groover.

The remix arrives as a somewhat preview of Yellowfriend’s forthcoming album on Shash and following a recent tape release on Dinzu Artefacts by Abby Lee Tee—you can purchase the tape here.

Yellowfriend’s remix of “Efeu” can be grabbed below via WeTransfer.
